The voice behind the message.

I work with communications teams, agencies and organisations on CEO statements, change communication, investor narratives, internal films and institutional productions — in European English and Dutch.

A message can be correct, fluent and carefully considered, and still not arrive as intended. What is said and what is received are not necessarily the same thing.

Thirty years in international business development taught me to pay attention to that gap. Not to assume I knew what happened on the receiving side, but to notice how much can sit between intention and reception.

I bring that judgement into the studio.

I don’t just read the script. I consider the room it’s going into: what the message needs to do, what the words are carrying, and where pace, emphasis or performance could add noise rather than clarity.

The work is to give the message the best possible chance to arrive intact.

For international productions, I work in European English: not British, not American, and not an imitation of either. Clear, intentional English without unnecessary performance.

For Dutch productions: the same restraint. A Dutch voice that tells the story without selling it.

The practical side matters too. Broadcast-quality studio, 48kHz/24-bit WAV. Directed sessions via Source-Connect, Zoom, Teams or Cleanfeed. Direct contact with me throughout the production. Confidential and unreleased material remains confidential.

Behind the voice is Where Messages Land — my ongoing work around the space between what is meant, what is delivered and what can actually be known about what happens next.

It began with delivery. Increasingly, the more interesting territory is on the other side: the listener.
